ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES
MARCH 13, 2003
7:00 P.M. Called meeting to order. Present: Ellen Abelson, Robert Merritt and Mark
Mazur. Signed a bill voucher and abatement records.
7:05 P.M. Old business
The Board reviewed and then approved as amended, the minutes from
2/27/2003.
7:10 P.M. New Business
The Board read a notice, from the attorney for 885 General Edwards
Highway, withdrawing their fiscal 2002 Appellate Tax Board (ATB)
case. No abatement was granted in exchange for their withdrawal.
The Board reviewed bids for our calendar 2002 building permit
assistance project.
The Board selected David Cabral for our calendar 2002 building permit
assistance project.
The Board read a letter from the Personnel Board notifying our office
that the job description for the Sr. Assessor’s Clerk should be reviewed
this year.
The Board reviewed and then signed as amended, a letter to the Personnel Board, notifying them that we planned to review the job description of our Sr. Assessor’s Clerk this year.
6. The Board read a letter from the owner of 1 Prince Way, requesting
an explanation for the denial of his fiscal 2003 application for abatement.
The Board reviewed and then signed as amended, a letter in response to
the request by the owner of 1 Prince Way, for an explanation for the
denial of his application for abatement.
The Board reviewed the Annual Room Occupancy Revenue Report from
the state.
The Board took the following actions, on the fiscal year 2003
applications for exemption, on the following properties:
PIN 70-74 Clause 22 Granted
PIN 53-8-1 Clause 17D Denied
PIN 130-16 Clause 17D Denied
PIN 75-63 Clause 17D Granted
PIN 130-25 Clause 17D Granted
PIN 81-36 Clause 17D Granted
The Administrative Assessor discussed his scheduled appearance before
the Finance Committee, at 7:30 P.M. on Monday 3/17/2003. He will be
there to explain and answer questions about his analysis of exemption
warrant articles.
